Your privacy at Vida
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Vida collects, why we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
Last updated: August 22, 2026
1. Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Vida (“Vida,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Vida mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
2. Information we collect
Account and authentication information
We collect information used to create and secure your account, such as your email address and authentication provider identifier. If you sign in through Apple, Google, or another provider, that provider may send us information permitted by your settings. We do not receive the password you use with a third-party sign-in provider.
Profile and preference information
You may provide a username, birth date, gender, who you are interested in, relationship intention, life stage, About Me text, preferred places, availability, city or state, and other profile details. Some of this information may be sensitive, and you choose whether to provide it, subject to fields required to use the Services.
Photos and content
We collect profile photos and content you create, including Today selections and notes, Lifestyle DNA questionnaire answers, reports, support messages, and messages you send to other members.
Activity and connection information
We process passes, interests, matches, profile views or interactions, blocks, reports, conversations, message status, and feature usage. We also process the information needed to generate compatibility results and show eligible profiles in Classic Discover and Timeline.
Location information
We collect the city, state, country, or search area you provide. If you give the app permission to use device location, we may process approximate or precise location to determine your area and support location-based features. Other members are shown only the location information presented in your profile, such as city and state, not your precise device location.
Device and technical information
We may automatically collect device type, operating system, app version, language, IP address, timestamps, diagnostic logs, crash information, and similar technical data needed to operate, secure, and improve the Services.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your account.
- Build and display your profile and the content you choose to share.
- Provide Discover, Timeline, Today, Lifestyle DNA, matching, messaging, and AI Icebreaker features.
- Generate deterministic compatibility insights from profile, preference, lifestyle, and availability information.
- Review photos and written content for safety, authenticity, and compliance with our rules.
- Detect fraud, misuse, security incidents, and behavior that may harm members.
- Process reports and blocks, provide support, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- Measure performance, fix errors, and improve accessibility and product experience.
- Comply with law and protect the rights and safety of Vida, our members, and others.
4. How profiles and content are shared
Vida is designed to help members discover and communicate with other people. Depending on the feature and your settings, other eligible members may see information such as your username, age, city and state, approved photos, profile details, relationship preferences, availability, Lifestyle DNA results, and Today content.
Photos that are awaiting review may remain visible only to you until approved. Written Today content may also be held for review before other members can see it. A block prevents the affected members from seeing or contacting each other through supported Vida surfaces. Please do not include information in your public profile or posts that you do not want other members to see.
5. AI and compatibility features
Vida may use automated systems to support features such as AI Icebreakers and content or safety review. AI Icebreakers may process your profile and another member's profile to suggest conversation starters. Suggestions are drafts: you choose whether to use or edit them, and they are not sent automatically.
Compatibility scores are generated from defined product rules and the information members provide. AI may help explain a result but does not change the underlying score. Automated outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not replace your own judgment.
6. How we share information
We may share information in the following circumstances:
- With other members: as needed to provide profile discovery, Today, matching, and messaging features.
- With service providers: companies that help us host data, store media, authenticate users, send communications, monitor reliability, provide support, and protect the Services.
- For legal and safety reasons: when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, threats, or violations of our Terms.
- During a business transaction: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
- With your direction or consent: when you ask us to share information or otherwise authorize it.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Data retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by the type of information and why we process it.
Vida may show up to 30 days of a member's Today history in supported profile views. This display period does not necessarily determine how long associated safety, moderation, backup, or legal records are retained. If you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify information as required by applicable law, while retaining limited records where permitted or required for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information. You can update many profile details in the app and manage device permissions through your operating system settings.
You may report or block another member through available safety controls. To request account deletion or exercise a privacy right, use the in-app option when available or email support@singleparentdating.org from the address associated with your Vida account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These measures include access controls and restricted delivery of private profile media. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a unique password, protect your device, and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
10. Age requirement
Vida is only for adults who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
11. International data transfers
Vida and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards intended to protect information transferred across borders.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required by law.
